Liverpool Hope University Celebrates Significant Milestone: Employers’ Invitation to Apprenticeships Launch Event
Liverpool Hope University recently announced its newly acquired apprenticeship provider
status. With programmes starting in September 2025 and designed to meet the growing
demand for skilled professionals in education and healthcare sectors, the university is now
planning to celebrate this significant milestone.
The university invites employers in the education and public service industries to a special launch event where it will explore the tremendous potential that apprenticeships hold for employee retention, continuous professional development (CPD), and bridging skills gaps to shape, build and invest in the workforce of the future.
Date: Thursday 27 March 2025
Time: 10.00am – 2.00pm
Location: EDEN Arbor Suite, Hope Park Campus, L16 9JD
The new apprenticeship programmes include primary teaching, physiotherapy, youth work,
and social work. These carefully designed courses aim to help employers address critical
skills shortages in these vital fields while offering a clear pathway for career progression and
development for their employees or developing potential new talent pipelines.
Key highlights of the event:
● Presentations from an expert panel of stakeholders on the value of apprenticeships
in shaping talent, aligning with the city’s wider strategic skills plan and benefits to
employee development and retention
● In-depth discussion of the impact of apprenticeships on skill gaps, particularly in
primary teaching, physiotherapy, youth work, and social work
● Lunch and networking opportunities with other employers and industry leaders
● Q&A opportunities with apprenticeship programme leaders and educators
The expert panel includes Deputy Lord Mayor, councillor Barbara Murray; chair of the
Business and Enterprise Board (BEB) for Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, David Meyerowitz; strategic associate for SDN, Emily Hughes; and vice principal for quality at Wirral Met College, Phil Jones.
This is a unique opportunity for employers to explore how apprenticeships can play a
transformative role in both developing their workforce and people strategies, meeting the
evolving needs of their organisation. Liverpool Hope University invites all employers in the education, healthcare, youth and social sectors to attend and discover how these new apprenticeship programmes can help build a skilled, future-ready workforce.
