An impressive results day at Notre Dame Catholic Academy Sixth Form

Students at Notre Dame Catholic Academy Sixth Form, Everton, are celebrating today following a strong set of 2026 external examination outcomes. 

A day to celebrate

Students and their families returned to the academy this morning to collect their results following two years of hard work and commitment, supported by excellent tuition and pastoral care from the sixth form’s exceptional staff. 

Notre Dame Catholic Academy Sixth Form is proud to be part of the St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust. The sixth form has seen improvements across A-level, applied general and technical pathways with increases in attainment, average grades and student progress, recording an overall value added score of +0.69.  

Notable successes

Among the many outstanding achievements were those of Hanna Gigu. Hanna achieved A, A*, Distinction * in art, design and technology, and health and social care. 

Other notable successes include Olumide Adewunmi, whose commitment to their studies earned them Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction in business, IT and sport.

Olumide said:

“I am pleased with my time at Notre Dame, I got the results that I needed to go to university – which I am more than happy with!”

Naomi Otaru also secured Distinction*,Distinction*, Distinction in business, psychology and IT respectively. 

Maggie Maguire will be heading to the University of Liverpool to study law after achieving A, A, B in art, criminology and English. 

Maggie reflected:

“I have loved my time at Notre Dame; it has been supportive and allowed me to achieve the grades necessary to get to my chosen university!” 

Meanwhile, Jessica Stephens and Ellie Hughes both achieved Distinction*, Distinction, A. Jessica studied psychology, health and social care, and criminology. She will now be progressing to Liverpool John Moores University to study psychology. 

Jessica said:

“My time at Notre Dame has been the best ever. It has prepared me for my next steps to university and because of their support, I am able to attend John Moores to study psychology!”

Reflections on a successful year

The success of Notre Dame Catholic Academy Sixth Form’s students reflects the academy’s mission of opening hearts, minds and doors to fulfilled futures, through an outstanding education that combines academic excellence with supportive pastoral care, enabling every student to realise their full potential. 

Mrs Kerry Nicol, head of sixth form, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our students and their outstanding A-level results. Their achievements are a true reflection of their commitment, determination and resilience throughout their studies. They have worked exceptionally hard and remained focused on achieving their goals. These results are a wonderful testament to their dedication, and I am delighted to celebrate their success with them. They should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.”

Headteacher, Mrs Victoria Taylor, added:

“We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students and the excellent progress they have made. These results reflect their hard work, determination and commitment, as well as the dedication of our staff team and the support of families and carers. It is particularly pleasing to see improvement across all pathways, including A-level, applied general and technical qualifications. 

“Our students leave Notre Dame with strong outcomes, confidence and aspiration for the next stage of their education, training or employment. We congratulate every student on their achievements and wish them every success for the future.”
