Maghull High celebrates footballing success across the board
It’s been a season to remember for footballers at Maghull High School, with students achieving remarkable success on both local and national stages.
Bella, Lexi and Antonia played a key role in helping the Sefton schoolgirls’ team secure an historic treble, winning the League Cup, the National Cup and being crowned league champions – a feat never before achieved in the team’s history.
Meanwhile, Maghull High’s own football teams also enjoyed Sefton Cup glory. Both the Year 7 and Year 11 boys’ teams claimed victory in their respective finals, played at Marine Football Club on Friday 23 May.
The Year 11s recorded a 4-2 win over Holy Family Catholic High School, with goals from Sam, Max and a brace from Sonny. The Year 7 final proved to be just as exciting, with Isaac scoring twice to level the match before Charlie netted an extra-time winner to seal a 3-2 victory.
The wins cap off a highly successful season for the school, with students across year groups making their mark on the pitch.
