Double for Mab Lane Primary School

Mab Lane Primary School, Liverpool was celebrating after receiving the Church and Schools Award at both levels 1 and 2.

The awards were presented by Bishop Richard Blackburn, the Bishop of Warrington and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Tony Concepcion at a special assembly. The awards aim to encourage even stronger links between Church of England schools and the parishes to which they belong.

Headteacher Mrs Walwyn said: “This is a huge achievement as we are the first community school in Liverpool to achieve the award. It recognises the strong links we have with our local church St Luke’s and the many different ways in which we support our pupils and our local community by supporting the local food bank, singing at residential homes, fundraising for different charities, parent courses and extra-curricular activities.

“We invited parents to join us for our special assembly and then our visitors spent the morning looking around our school and talking to the children.”
