Maghull build for the future

Maghull High School has been chosen as one of only 277 schools in the country to benefit from the government’s two billion pound Priority Schools Building Programme 2.

Headteacher, Mr Anderson was delighted to announce the decision and said that they are looking forward to a complete rebuild of their main block.

Mr Anderson said: “The school is so excited with the plans that our architects have had approved by the government and so impressed with how quickly the work will begin. Work will commence in the autumn term this year with expected completion in January 2019.

“The school celebrated its diamond anniversary last year, so the fulfilment of this plan is long overdue. The layout of the site means that there will be no disruption to student learning during the project, with continued full use of the existing building.

“The current main block will only be demolished after the transition to the new building.  With a new school hall, dining room, dedicated performing arts suite, two floors of classrooms and other facilities, the new building promises to be impressive”.
