Proms in the park
Talented young performers from St Mary’s College were the stars of a summer evening spectacular of music, fireworks and family fun. There was glorious sunshine for the seventh St Mary’s College Proms in the Park concert at the school’s Blundell Park playing field, attended by more than 2,500 pupils, family members, friends and local music lovers.
The event showcased the musical skills of around 250 students from the college and its preparatory school, and was conducted by director of music, Andrew Byers.
There were also performances by the choirs from two other local schools – Valewood Primary in Crosby and St Luke’s C of E Primary in Formby.
St Mary’s College principal, Mike Kennedy, said: “Once again the standard of music at the concert was incredibly high, and I would like to thank all the performers and audience members for supporting the event and making it another evening to remember”.
