Rainford High students put on their dancing shoes for movie-themed show

Students at Rainford High recently dazzled audiences with a sell-out movie-themed dance show.

The show featured a vibrant collection of routines from iconic films such as Grease, Titanic, The Greatest Showman, Barbie, and many more.

The production showcased the hard work and creativity of over 60 talented students from Years 7 to 11, who had been diligently planning and rehearsing since September. Behind the scenes, a team of students worked as music and lighting assistants, ensuring a seamless and professional performance.

Under the expert guidance of PE teacher, Miss Smith, along with the innovative contributions of the students, the choreography covered a diverse array of dance styles, including contemporary, commercial, modern, acro, hip-hop, lyrical and jazz. Each piece brought its unique flair and emotion to the stage, reflecting the dedication and passion of the young dancers.

“We were incredibly proud of our pupils for their hard work and enthusiasm in bringing this show to life,” said Miss Smith. “Their dedication to perfecting each performance was truly inspiring, and we were thrilled to share their talents with the community.”

Principal of Rainford High, Mr Ian Young, added: “Productions like this are a real highlight in the school calendar and it is wonderful to see so many of our students getting involved, both on stage and off stage. Well done to everyone who made this show possible.”
