SFX celebrate Christmas Jumper Day in style

Students and staff at St Francis Xavier’s College (SFX) in Woolton are feeling festive after taking part in Christmas Jumper Day in a bid to raise money for charity.

In aid of Save the Children, Friday 14 December has become an important date in the calendar as it encourages schools, businesses and organisation across the UK to wear a Christmas jumper in order to help create a brighter future for children.

The college was awash with traditional and novelty jumper styles. By donating just £1 each, staff and students had the chance to wear festive attire throughout the day and support a worthwhile cause.

The festivities were topped off by a delicious Christmas lunch served up by the dining room staff. On the menu was a traditional roast dinner of turkey, roast potatoes, vegetables and pigs in blankets and for dessert Christmas pudding or chocolate cake with sauce.

David Yates, headteacher at SFX, said: “Christmas Jumper Day is a great way to raise money for a fantastic charity that is close to many of our hearts. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed donning their finest jumper and we are now all feeling very festive at the college.”
