Triple winner Charlie has a Jolley good time
SMA’s Charlie Jolley was the top performer at the Liverpool City Secondary Schools Boys’ Athletics Championships today, taking home three gold medals with a brilliant all-round performance.
The Year 10 pupil finished first in the 400M, the triple jump and the relay with a dominant display on his final appearance at the city championships
Held at the Wavertree Athletics Centre, athletes from Years 7-10 battled it out for the right to be crowned city champion, with many memorable battles taking place on both track and field and the standard of competition was particularly high.
Athletes lined up for the finals’ day after a series of qualifying events and there were strong performances from Calderstones, SFX, St Francis of Assisi and SMA who all took home multiple medals.
The winners will now be invited to represent their schools at a regional event to be held later on in the year.
