All About STEM Partners with ScottishPower to promote renewable energy in schools

All About STEM and ScottishPower have joined forces as corporate partners. Utilising the valuable skill sets from each company and their shared values, they plan to engage learners in the science, technology, engineering and maths of energy.

ScottishPower is the first company to produce power through 100% renewable sources and they are always keen to engage the community and schools to who they are and what they do.

All About STEM is known for connecting businesses and organisations with schools to promote science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Previously, ScottishPower collaborated with All About STEM to develop renewable power workshops with great success, so to celebrate their partnership they have launched the Renewable Futures Programme during British Science Week! Renewable Futures is aimed at children in Years 5 and 6, learners look at processes and planet-friendly energy sources before building and making renewable power themselves using All About STEM’s specially-designed kits.

Both companies have collaborated on numerous educational events over the years ranging from careers fairs and bespoke science and engineering workshops to arena spectaculars inspiring thousands of children in STEM.

All About STEM and ScottishPower plan to celebrate their alliance with a whole series of activities for schools. Learners taking part will also be inspired by STEM ambassadors, introduced to ScottishPower’s Powerwise resources and encouraged to take part in CREST Awards and the All About STEM competition

This promises to be a powerful partnership that will create sparks of inspiration for younger learners and light the way for older students to exciting energy careers.
