Celebrating 92 years of teaching

Holly Lodge Girls’ College held a 92nd birthday celebration and reunion for pupils and staff old and new.
The event also provided an opportunity to say a fond farewell to the old Holly Lodge site and some of the old buildings as well as an opportunity to celebrate the bright new school.

On the day there were lots of things to see and do including a traditional sports day, dance, drama and music performances, archive exhibitions, a reunion café and afternoon tea.

There was also the chance to buy a print or canvas of the school.

Events also included a blind auction of some of the school’s old memorabilia and artwork, a marketplace, Holly Lodge films, traditional fete, Lego robots, science experiments, children’s area and much more.

Headteacher, Julia Tinsley, said: “A huge thank you to all our guests for coming to our birthday event, it was lovely to see so many friends meeting up and having their own mini reunion.

“We are delighted that the sun came out for us and everyone was able to enjoy the fabulous grounds.”
