Together as a community

Over 250 people enjoyed a free, fun packed afternoon held during the Easter holidays at Bishop David Sheppard Primary School on Devonshire Road. Even the sun shone on this special day! There was something for all ages to enjoy.

Activities included a magic show, art and craft, sand and water play and face painting. At the cake-decorating table, children loved piping butter-cream onto cup cakes and there was also the chance to create their own fruity crumbles with Brighter Living Partnership.

A hit with the older children was a goal shoot out with Southport Football Club. The Zoo Man was an exciting attraction, bringing exotic snakes, owls and tarantulas to the event. One little girl was brave enough to place the tarantula on her head and wrap the snake around her shoulders!

Mrs Tarjomi, event organiser, said: “I would like to thank all the staff and volunteers from school for supporting the event during their school holidays and the organisations, families and children that attended, your support made our day!

“The event was so popular that we plan to extend our community programme to include a luncheon club and termly fun days!”
