Fantastic welcome for Deyes High GCSE students

There was a fantastic welcome for Deyes High Year 11 students as they arrived at school to collect their Key Stage 4 results.  The school were so immensely proud of the way their students have shown such strength of character, determination and resilience despite the ongoing challenges they faced during their final two years at Deyes High School.  

Pupils adapted quickly and positively to the new way in which they were assessed this year and they now have incredible results with which to take the next exciting steps on their journey.

Every student deserves huge congratulations for contributing to overall improvements in results which saw 75% of students achieve grades 9-5 in English and 65% achieve grades 9-5 in maths. 72% of its students achieved at least five standard passes, including those in English and maths.

Individual performances have been much celebrated today.

122 Grade 9s were awarded to its students and 556 Grades 9-7 ensured that they saw many happy faces.

Some of its highlights included Amelia Hughes who achieved nine Grade 9s, alongside Ann Boylan who achieved seven Grade 9s and two Grade 8s; Christina Keating achieved nine Grade 9s; Suzanne Keating achieved one Grade 9, five Grade 8s and three Grade 7s.

Sam Cramsie achieved six Grade 9s and three Grade 8s with Faye Craddock who achieved one Grade 9, a Distinction*, five Grade 8s and two Grade 7s; Harry McCann achieved five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s

Mrs Beaney, head of school, said: “These results reflect the students’ fortitude to succeed, despite the unique circumstances they have faced. We sincerely hope that such fantastic results will empower our students to realise their dreams and ambitions in the future.

“We are delighted that so many students will continue their journey with us at College@Deyes and we also wish those joining a new pathway every success.”
