Free reading game available next week

A multi award-winning phonics and reading game will be available for free on all platforms for devices from 20-26 September.

Teach Your Monster to Read, by non-profit organisation Teach Your Monster, usually costs £4.99 to download on the App Store, Google Play or Amazon.

The BAFTA-nominated game is for use in the classroom or at home and has been played more than 400 million times by 40 million children worldwide.

Teach Your Monster to Read complements the major systematic synthetic phonics schemes used in schools.

Children learn through play by creating their own monster and teaching it to read, meeting wonderful characters and exploring a magical world.

The game covers the early years of reading, giving children the chance to match letters to sounds, and read funny sentences and little books.

Antonio Gould, executive director at Teach Your Monster, said: “Teach Your Monster to Read has proved an enormous hit with children, parents, and teachers around the world.

“By making the game free between 20 – 26 September, we hope to extend our reach to more schools and families, helping to engage an even greater number of children in the early stages of their reading journey.”

The game is suitable for ages 3-6.

Teach your Monster To Read will be free between 20-26 September with the game’s latest literacy game, Teach Your Monster: Reading for Fun.

It will also feature the brand new numeracy game, Teach Your Monster Number Skills.
