SIX returning to Liverpool Playhouse for Christmas

The international musical ‘SIX’ is making a royal return to the Everyman Playhouse from this December.

The musical, written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII. It will last for around 80 minutes.

The queens argue throughout the play about who had the worst experience with their husband, until they all realise they do not need Henry’s love to feel validated as people.

This sell-out West End show has won awards, with newspaper The Australian stating it has ‘an incredibly strong and powerful message’.

The New York Times, meanwhile, said the musical is “pure entertainment”.

Suba Das, Creative Director for the Everyman Playhouse Theatres, was appointed as the new creative director in 2021.

He said: “SIX enjoyed a sell-out week at the Playhouse in March 2020 and we’re thrilled to have it back again.

“We know Liverpool loves a musical and this is one of the best.

“We can’t wait to welcome back the Queens!”

SIX The Musical is at the Liverpool Playhouse from Tuesday 6 December to Sunday 8 January 2023. Tickets priced £10 to £45 are available from Monday 13 June at midday at www.everymanplayhouse.com
