All Saints Multi Academy Trust celebrates annual Service of Blessing at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral

Celebrating unity across the trust

The All Saints Multi Academy Trust community recently came together at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral for its third annual Service of Blessing.

This year’s theme was ‘One in Christ, United in Mission’. It celebrates the shared values and mission that unite the trust’s Catholic and Church of England schools.

The service was led by the Bishop of Warrington, the Very Reverend Simon Robinson, and the Archbishop of Liverpool, the Most Reverend John Sherrington. They offered prayers, reflections, and blessings that shared the trust’s commitment to faith and education.

Sponsored by both the Diocese of Liverpool and the Archdiocese of Liverpool, All Saints Multi Academy Trust is founded on the ecumenical partnership of Bishop David Sheppard and Archbishop Derek Worlock. The partnership began in the late 1970s and developed through the 1980s. Their belief that communities are ‘better together’ remains central to the trust’s mission today.

Students take centre stage

The special service was attended by students, staff, governors, and stakeholders from across the trust’s academies located in Liverpool, Sefton, and St Helens.

It began with a procession made up of students who proudly carried framed logos of their respective academies. The event featured uplifting hymns, scripture readings, and a poem written by a student from Hope Academy. It all centred around the theme of togetherness.

The trust choir featured children from each academy. They delivered moving performances including ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and ‘Together We Are Stronger’. Students were accompanied by talented musicians from St Michael’s Band at St Michael’s Church of England Academy.

The ceremony concluded with a blessing of school badges and the congregation. It symbolised the unity and shared mission that connect all members of the trust.

As part of its commitment to serving communities locally and globally, All Saints Multi Academy Trust is proud to be supporting Mary’s Meals this year. It has has raised over £1000 for the cause. The charity provides life-changing meals to children in some of the world’s poorest countries. It helps them access education and better opportunities for the future.
