UK first for New Park Primary as it receives latest tech

New Park Primary has become the first school in the UK to receive a Ricoh Interactive Learning Table (ILT).

The innovative touchscreen table, which allows teachers and students to collaborate, interact, learn and communicate in the classroom, was delivered to the school this week by supplier Copyrite Systems.

The Learning Table provides a place where students can gather together to interact with subject material in new and stimulating ways. It can be used to support video and game based learning as well as other ways that drive interaction and engagement – the possibilities are endless.

Not only does the Ricoh ILT bring learning to life in an exciting and fun way but the technology also helps students develop problem-solving and communication skills.

Educate went along on the day to see the initial reaction from pupils and teachers and to find out how the new technology will enhance the learning at the school.

Representatives from Copyrite Systems and Ricoh were joined by headteacher Karen Hutchings, who recently became Headteacher of the Year at the national TES Awards.

Andrew Hampson, sales manager at Copyrite Systems, says: “We’re thrilled to have delivered the UK’s first Ricoh Interactive Learning Table to New Park Primary School. We’re looking forward to seeing how this new technology enhances learning and benefits both teachers and pupils.

“We couldn’t have chosen a better school to pilot the learning table in as New Park is inspirational in every sense of the word. Its headteacher recently won the TES Headteacher of the Year award, so we’re delighted to supply this innovative technology to a school which is leading the way nationally.”
