Alsop students attend the British Masters

Alsop High School students recently enjoyed a fantastic few days at Hillside Golf Club, Southport watching one of the world’s best golfers, Tommy Fleetwood in the 2019

Tommy Fleetwood British Masters Tournament.

Hillside is a majestic links course next door to Royal Birkdale, on the edge of Fleetwood’s hometown of Southport.

Year 9 student, William Davies won the American Golf competition at the tournament, which consisted of chipping, putting and a closest to the pin target challenge and was thrilled to win £250 in golf vouchers.

Mr Paul Deakin, pastoral support mentor said: “Alsop students had a fantastic experience at this important British tournament watching the charismatic Tommy Fleetwood. They were left entranced by the skill of the famous golfers who participated in the competition.

“The students received compliments from the stewards who were impressed by their positive attitudes and exceptional behaviour.”
