Liverpool’s Christmas single now available to download!

A Christmas single which was recorded last month in the famous Parr Street Studios is now available to download.

The single, titled ‘Liverpool Heart’ includes vocals from the Lord Mayor councillor Erica Kemp, choirs including the Liverpool Community Choir and Harmonee, upcoming artists Joe Maddocks and Sophie-Ellen Evans and other local talent including Whitfield Primary School’s choir.

The single was created by the Big City Soul Collective, an organisation to help showcase, celebrate and inspire the hidden talents within Liverpool’s youth communities and through the power of music they have united communities and helped start many artists’ careers. All of the proceeds from the Christmas single will go to the Liverpool Heartbeat charity; a charity helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds fulfil their creative potential.

As well as the main charity single, there will be individual artist versions available from 15^th November including Emma Nowell and Whitefield Primary’s version.

Whitefield’s choir was coached by Emma, who is a children’s TV presenter. She said: “It’s a brilliant song with a great melody and we thoroughly enjoyed playing our part in the recording. People are going to love the final version and we hope as many people as possible will support us and download the single. We will be performing ‘Liverpool Heart’ throughout our packed Christmas concert programme”

Liverpool Heartbeat founder, Robin Baynes MBE said: “The Whitefield pupils were so incredibly well rehearsed, they knew every word and harmony, I was very impressed by their dedication and ability, we are doing this to help local children pursue their artist ambitions, Whitefield are a wonderful example of what can be achieved with dedication and passion”.

Participants from the Big City Soul Collective have been busy performing the charity single in the lead up to the release, in various locations across Liverpool including Williamson Square.
