Primary schools go head to head at the South Sefton Euros

Over 120 talented footballers from Sefton schools took part in Sefton SSP‘s competitive South Sefton Euros girls’ football tournament.

Eight Sefton primary schools – including St Benedict’s, Bedford, St Elizabeth’s, Springwell Park, St Monica’s, Our Lady of Walsingham, The Grange and St Robert Bellarmine – gathered at Goals in Netherton to compete.

Held in conjunction with Liverpool County FA, South Sefton SSP said ‘enthusiasm, effort, talent and smiles’ were in abundance on the day.

Each school represented a European country which were Portugal, Scotland, England, France, Sweden, Holland, Germany and Spain.

Winners…

Year 3/4 winner: St Monica’s, representing Holland

Year 3/4 runner-up: Our Lady of Walsingham, representing Spain

Year 5/6 winner: St Elizabeth’s, representing France

Year 5/6 runner-up: Springwell Park, representing Sweden
