Students celebrate great GCSE results at Rainford High!
Students from Rainford High are celebrating a successful GCSE results day today.
The fantastic results show that Rainford High continues to move from strength to strength on its mission to deliver excellence for all the community.
Year 11 students did not disappoint with their results, as 77% of students passed five or more subjects, including English and Maths.
This means they achieved a grade 4 or above in English and Maths and a grade C or above in other subjects.
This year saw the introduction of a new grading system for English language, English literature and maths. These subjects are now graded 9-1, with 9 being the top grade and 4 being the standard pass rate (equivalent to a grade C).
The results reflect the hard work and dedication of the students to achieving their ambition and putting themselves on a successful journey for the rest of their lives.
The support the staff have given the students has been first class and that has allowed the students to achieve life enhancing results.
A special mention for the following students who achieved a combination of Grade A’s, A* and 7’s and above in their GCSE results Megan Sykes, Lauren Marshall, Jessica Harley, Tom Hemmingway, Lewis Derbyshire and Dominic Francis.
Principal Ian Young said: “We are incredibly proud of the young people who have done so well this year in gaining strong outcomes for their future opportunities and ambitions.
“As we continue to move towards delivering excellence for all our students, these set of results demonstrate the hard work of all Rainford students and staff.”
