Blue Coat students hit new heights

The Blue Coat A-level students’ hard work has been rewarded with an exceptional set of A-level results this year. Of all grades awarded:

  • 61% were A*-A
  • 82% were A*-B

An impressive 44% of students achieved three or more A*-A grades.

Excellent results were seen across all subject areas, but special mention goes to the geography department for achieving its best ever results this year. In addition, every student in Latin, music and English language/ literature achieved a grade A*/A/B and one in four students studying chemistry achieved an A* grade.

Reflecting on this year’s results headteacher Mr Pennington, said; “We are so proud of our students for achieving this remarkable set of outstanding results. It is such a pleasure to see their talents and hard work rewarded with the highest number of A*-A grades that students of The Blue Coat School have ever achieved.

“It is a privilege to lead and work with our amazing teams of teaching, pastoral and support staff whose expertise, positivity, dedication and commitment throughout this year has inspired our students to achieve such stunning outcomes.”

Speaking on behalf of the governors Mr Martin Hill, said: “We are delighted with another fantastic set of A-level results which has ensured that more students than ever are going on to their chosen next steps.

“On behalf of the governing body, we offer our congratulations and best wishes to our talented students who we know will achieve more great things beyond The Blue Coat School. We also say a huge well done to all of our leaders and staff whose professionalism, expertise and mutual support ensure that year on year, students of The Blue Coat School reach learn, develop and thrive to the highest possible standard.”

We would like to wish the Class of 2019 the very best of luck as they embark on their next steps, and we look forward to welcoming them back to the school for A-level prize giving ceremony in January 2020.
