The Very Hungry Caterpillar comes to Liverpool Playhouse this half term

This half term, four of American author Eric Carle’s best-known works are coming to the Liverpool Playhouse

‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show 2023’ features ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear’; ‘10 Little Rubber Ducks’; ‘The Very Lonely Firefly’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

The shows will take place from Tuesday 14 February to Saturday 18 February, with tickets priced at £15.

Eric Carle is a best-selling children’s book author, drawn from his deep love of nature.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar tells the story of a caterpillar that eventually becomes a beautiful butterfly.

It has been translated into 70 languages and has sold over 55 million copies worldwide since it was first published in 1969.

The Everyman and Playhouse theatres have a range of upcoming other family-friendly activities.

From 30 May to 3 June, the musical Zog will return, which is based on the bestselling book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler.

Zog is the UK’s number one picture book pair behind many modern classics, including The Gruffalo, which has been published in 75 languages.

In July, Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland will be remixed with original music inspired by British pop.

This is a co-production between Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, Stockroom and Theatre Royal Plymouth.

Drama weeks are also back in spring half term. From Monday 13 February, children in Key Stage 2 can enjoy a whole week of drama activities, games and creating performances ran by experienced directors of the Young Everyman Playhouse.
