Barrow Hall College thrilled with A-level results

Yesterday, students from Barrow Hall College celebrated results for this year’s A-Level students, which their teachers said were ‘excellent’.

The college, which is part of the Omega Multi-Academy Trust, said they are delighted to see the hard work and commitment of their staff and students rewarded.

They added they wish students all the best as they prepare for the next chapter in their lives.

Helen Stones, Head of Barrow Hall College said: “Our Year 13 students have worked extremely hard; they have shown great resilience and determination to succeed despite quite possibly the most challenging build up to external exams that students have ever experienced.

“Despite the disruption to education nationally over the past three years, our students have achieved excellent outcomes and we are incredibly proud of them all.”

Many students will continue their education at university, with the majority securing their first-choice place.

Student Jacob will study philosophy at Cambridge University, while Maarij is going to study computer science and maths at Manchester. Both achieved three A* grades.

Thea will study psychology at Leeds following her two A* grades and one A grade.

Rhiannon will study law at Lancaster, while Ashvin will attend St Andrews to study international relations and Grace will study politics at Manchester. All three achieved one A* and two A grades.

Other students have also opted for degree level apprenticeships including Ethan who will be joining the Police following his successful results.

Students studying vocational subjects also excelled, with many gaining distinction* grades including: Sophia, Kalisha, Caleb, Owen, Thomas, Harry, Lewis, Holly, Ben and George.

Newly appointed Headteacher, Gary Evans said: “Over half of the A- level grades awarded were the very highest grades A*-B, this is a phenomenal achievement. Students, parents and staff should be extremely proud of these results.
