Calling all teachers and students heading to festivals!

Festival season is now in full swing. With festivals like the Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury taking place this month – along with many, many more – it’s time to get ready!

Event marketplace ‘Togather’ has unveiled some well-planned essentials to avoid a last-minute packing frenzy. Whether you’re a seasoned festival-goer or a complete newbie, Educate has picked out our top tips to make your festival experience the best!

if you are camping, the first thing to make sure of is that your camping essentials are festival-ready! Do you have a reliable tent (that won’t bow away), a sleeping bag and camping mat for a comfortable night sleep? Also make sure to pack a torch for the night.

Earplugs and eye masks are a must for those who have trouble sleeping. Earplugs will drown out noise from outside and an eye mask will block out the early morning summer sun.

With how unpredictable British weather can be, ensure you pack raincoats and umbrellas, as well as wellies, so you’re prepared to stay dry and comfortable in-case of rain.

A portable phone charger, cash and card, and plenty of snacks and hydration essentials such as water bottles are also good things to pack. Food and drink stalls can be expensive, and some stalls may not accept card payments, so make sure you have all forms of payment ready!

Sunscreen for the sunny weather is a must, so make sure to have big bottles  – you’ll go through it quicker than you think if you are applying it properly! Wet wipes, tissues, pain relievers and plasters will also prepare you for any minor mishaps or discomforts.

Pack only what is necessary and try to keep your bag as light as possible, as this will make transporting your bag much easier and you’ll have a much lesser chance of losing things. Plan ahead also and make sure you know what you’re meant to be doing, as it will make the experience a lot smoother.

Finally, keep your mind positive and go with an open mind. Things will not always go to plan, but it is how you deal with things that will decide if you have a good time. Be open to new adventures and create lifelong memories!
