Dylan Williams a man on a mission

After 33 years of teaching children in Liverpool, Dylan Williams felt his work in education was not done yet. Now working for supply solution, SupplyWell, he continues his mission of enacting positive change focusing on supply teachers, teaching assistants and cover supervisors.

Dylan Williams’ passion for education can be traced back to his first teaching appointment in September 1988 at Archbishop Beck Catholic College as a PE teacher. During his time there he was appointed manager for the Liverpool School Boys under 15 Football Club.

Under his direction they won national cups on two occasions and Dylan managed such players as Kevin Nolan and Steven Gerrard.

In 1997 Dylan left Archbishop Beck, and was appointed head of physical education in Alsop High School. Alsop was recognised as a leader in school sports and won many regional and national sporting competitions.

Dylan was integral in the development of the Liverpool Soccer Centre which was a partnership forged between Liverpool County FA, Liverpool Schools Football Association and Alsop High School. This facility was seen as the best school facility for football in the country.

In 2009 he was appointed a member of the senior leadership team at Alsop. This role was pastoral with a focus on behaviour management. The managing of alternative provision for students at KS4 and planning the school day with regards to appointing supply teachers to cover absences was also a responsibility of his.

In July 2021 he decided to retire from teaching after 33 years of service and was later offered a role as a business development manager at SupplyWell.
Since joining the ethical supply solution, Dylan focused his efforts in developing a unique CPD programme supporting the SupplyWell community, alongside weekly wellbeing calls and practical professional advice to teachers, TA’s and cover supervisors.

He endeavours to make lives easier for his team of teachers, TAs and cover supervisors so they can teach happy. He makes sure they go into schools feeling prepared, teaching more, earning more, and smiling more. Dylan is conscious of the huge exodus of teachers leaving the profession and wants to introduce support systems for educators to better prepare them for work and integrate them back into schools, ultimately bettering the lives of future generations in Liverpool and beyond.

If you’re a teacher, TA or cover supervisor and you share Dylan’s passion for a fairer future for teachers, schools and students get in touch with SupplyWell by calling 0333 305 0601 or visiting www.supplywell.co.uk to find out more on how you can be a part of the change.
