One more step along the world we go

Congratulations to the Alsop Year 13 Class of 2021 as they take further steps on their pathway to success and excellence. The Class of 2021 has triumphed and has been rewarded with outstanding results, including a record of 232 UCAS points for one student.

Mr Paul Masher, headteacher said: “In what has been an extraordinary and challenging period, with major disruption to due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Year 13 students have faced the uncertainty and risen to the challenge with commitment, determination and integrity, of which we are all immensely proud of.

“Our priority, as in all years, has been to support the well-being of our students and to ensure that they are equipped to take their next step with confidence. In addition to some fantastic academic results, we should all celebrate their resilience and ability to overcome adversity; life skills which will be invaluable in the next step of their journey, whether that be university, apprenticeships or employment.

“We are delighted that all of our students who applied for University have successfully gained their places. We are equally delighted, however, that all of our students who decided not to pursue the route of higher education and university have secured apprenticeships or employment. 

“Whichever path our students follow, we are secure in the knowledge that they have the skills and attributes to make a positive contribution to their community.”

Alsop also took the opportunity to congratulate every student on their fantastic achievements and thank them for their positive contributions as members of Team Alsop over the past seven years. The school also thanked staff for their unwavering commitment and professionalism in such challenging circumstances and, also, parents and carers, whose support and constant encouragement has meant so much to these amazing young people.

Ms Nolan, head of Sixth Form said: “All students, who applied, have successfully been gained a place at university with courses ranging from paramedical science to planetology, with students staying both local to home and moving to new cities.

“Alsop students always make me proud, but this results day made me joyous for both the academic achievements they have been awarded but also for the outstanding young people they have become. We look forward to hearing of our students’ future achievements and wish them all every success.”
