The Bauer Academy and Merseyside Police offer FREE media masterclasses

The Bauer Academy, Radio City and Merseyside Police are teaming up to offer free innovative media masterclasses to school students in year nine.
Based at the iconic Radio City tower, the programme will explore the newly launched #BladeFree campaign, looking specifically at the dangers of getting involved in anti-social behaviour, whilst identifying what positive activities young people could be doing with their free time instead.
The #BladeFree campaign is a united approach to support young people away from knife and violent crime through diversionary activities and initiatives.
By teaming up with industry experts from The Bauer Academy and Bauer Media – the organisation behind Radio City, Greatest Hits Radio and Radio City Talk – students will be able to embark on a media masterclass which includes content creation for radio commercials, podcasts and videos – some of which will be used as part of a media campaign on Radio City’s channels.
Hilary Pickering, Account Director at radio City, said: “This is a great opportunity for students to go behind the scenes of one of the world’s largest media companies within one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings. Whilst the subject is challenging, we create a comfortable environment to help the students explore any issues they may face. Working to a brief they will create a range of content and they will be tasked to take their learnings and content back into their school to host an assembly for the wider school year.
“This programme will also help develop confidence, leadership skills and communication plus provide the school with PR via Radio City’s channels and a whole raft of content that the school can use on their social media, website and as part of PHSE lessons. We look forward to hearing from you.”
This amazing opportunity is FREE to attend, however, it only has limited dates available to schools within the Liverpool City Region.
