Winstanley welcomes new director

Winstanley College has announced the appointment of Stephen Brockley as director of external relations.

Stephen has worked as a PE teacher at the college for 16 years, and two years ago became a professional mentor with Learning Futures Partnership, co-ordinating the college’s teacher training programme.

His new role will see him head up the college’s strategy in terms of marketing and work with external partners. In particular, he will be focusing on links with local high schools and developing the already comprehensive programme that Winstanley offers to support learning and promote further education.

Stephen said: “Inspiring young people to learn and achieve their goals has always been a passion of mine and is why I went into teaching.

“In my new role as director, I’ll be working with the existing team to develop how we can involve schools in our mission to achieve academic excellence in a supportive and inspiring learning community.

“The pandemic has meant we have had to adapt our offering but in some ways has allowed us to be even more creative. Once we are through these challenging times we look forward to some exciting new initiatives.”
