Open auditions for brand new youth theatre

Merseyside’s talented young people are being invited to open auditions for the launch of a brand new youth theatre.

The Epstein Theatre has announced that it will be launching its very own Youth Theatre in September 2017 aimed at young people from across Merseyside aged between 14-19.

Open auditions will be held on Saturday 8 July at 10:30am and 1:30pm, taking place at Hope Street Limited for young people interested in joining.

The Epstein Youth Theatre says it will provide “interested and like-minded youths with the opportunity to experience everything that the world of theatre has to offer, from one of the city’s most popular venues.”

Weekly workshops will help to develop strong, confident and versatile young performers, and provide them with the opportunity to explore new skills in a safe and welcoming environment.

Rebekah Pichilingi, theatre manager, says: “We all know that Liverpool is full to the brim of young talent, and our new Youth Theatre will welcome those individuals who wish to learn the craft of theatre.

“It will give them first-hand stage experience from leading theatre practitioners who will help develop crucial skills for young people interested in a career in the theatre, or just looking to have some fun and learn new skills.

“Everyone at The Epstein Theatre is looking forward to this exciting new venture and we cannot wait to meet our auditionees!”

Those interested in joining are encouraged to attend the audition; successful teens will then be offered a place to join the youth theatre, for a small termly fee of £10 per session.

The theatre will also be awarding four free scholarships per year to suitable candidates, making their Youth Theatre accessible to as many talented young people as possible.

All audition materials will be provided, there is no need to prepare anything, just come along and get ready to shine.
